Nevada Arts Council (NAC) Mission To ensure that arts and creativity will continue to grow and play an ever-increasing part in the economic vitality, cultural development, quality of life, and educational experience of the residents of the State of Nevada. Vision A Nevada in which arts and creativity are understood for how they enrich the lives of all residents, enhance the livability of our communities, and contribute to the state’s economic vitality. Goals Arts Education – conduct workshops, mentorships, professional development opportunities, regional and statewide convenings, and funding for contemporary and traditional artists, non-profit and cultural organizations, and public institutions. In addition, increasing arts education and arts integration into the curriculum of Nevada’s Pre-K-12 schools and promoting lifelong learning through use of arts and creativity in the social development, health, and healing for all Nevada citizens. Economic Vitality – addressing Nevadans access to arts and creativity through the recovery and sustainability of artists and arts organizations by creating funding opportunities, promoting cultural tourism, collaborating with government and business, improving creative infrastructure, developing financial viable creative districts, and supporting cultural awareness, understanding, and preservation. Healthy Communities – collaborating with partners to increase the understanding, use, and financial support of arts and creativity to aid in the healing, wellbeing, quality of life initiatives, and aging of Nevada’s residents. Arts Learning Project Grants The Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) Arts Learning Project Grant (ALP) is a grant designed to support arts learning programming, teaching artists residencies, and teacher/teaching artists training. These arts learning activities provide unique opportunities for students and people of all ages to work with practicing artists. Funds must be used for conducting group lessons/workshops (in-person or online/virtual) and/or educational performances at schools or community facilities. Funds may be used to support the execution of one activity/project or a series of related activities. Some components of the project, including planning, may occur outside of the FY27 grant cycle (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027), however, the portion(s) of the project being paid for with ALP grant funds must occur completely within the grant cycle.Eligibility
You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. 1:1 match (at least 50% of match must be cash and up to 50% of the match can be in-kind contributions)Nonprofit Organizations:Open to eligible nonprofit organizations that conduct arts education programming regardless of whether arts education is their primary mission Must be based in Nevada* Must have federal tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code Must have active incorporation status with the Nevada Secretary of State Must have a Unique Entity ID (UEI) from SAM.gov Non-profit organizations on the Nevada Arts Council Teaching Artist Roster may apply for either the Arts Learning Project Grant or the Arts Learning Express Grant, not both *Organizations located in states that border Nevada may apply if the majority of the project (at least 75%) serves Nevada communities, and all awarded funds are used to support Nevada communities Public Institutions (including federally recognized tribes, state or local government, schools, public libraries, and institutions of higher education):Must be based in NevadaAgencies that exist within the same governmental entity are eligible to apply independently when they have different/distinct mission statements and their own separate advisory boards. Multiple departments/facilities within one agency may not apply independentlyColleges/universities are limited to no more than one grant to the same academic departmentIndividual schools and libraries within the same district/system may apply independently as long as they have their own budget and facility. * An entity may receive an Arts Learning Project Grant and an Operating Support Grant in the same fiscal year but may not receive any other Nevada Arts Council grants during that fiscal year.Ineligibility
ALP funds may not be used for: General operating support - funds must be used for relevant project expenses only including artist fees, production expenses, materials, marketing, planning, and evaluationPurchase of permanent equipmentThe following costs are non-allowableAny portion of a project that duplicates costs in grants pending with, or received directly from, the National Endowment for the Arts Any portion of the same project in multiple grant applications, including in different grant cycles, grant years, or across multiple applicants Any portion of completed projects Anything specifically forbidden by Nevada state law or federal law Capital expenditures for land or general-purpose equipment with a cost over $2,500 Cash prizes, gifts, gift cards, auction items, goods for resale, or funds to acquire such items Competition awards Fees for filing for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service Fines, penalties, or debt collection costs Travel outside Canada, Mexico, the United States, and its territories and possessions Fundraising efforts or the money spent in order to raise additional funds (such as social events and benefits) that benefit the organization as a whole Hospitality or entertainment expenses (including food, beverages, per diem meal/incidental rates, and gratuities for openings, receptions, parties or other hospitality functions) Journalism, historical or academic documentary film, and electronic media arts that do NOT demonstrate significant artistic emphasis, consideration, and distinction Legal fees or litigation costs Lobbying expenses Content of a prurient nature(See NRS201.235) Preparation for, or travel to, competitions (except for Poetry Out Loud participants) Projects with implicit religious content that may be perceived as advancing a religiouspurpose Publication subvention Reduction of debt including interest expenses paid on loans, debts, or borrowed capital Reserve funds Salaries and overhead of government agencies,public institutions, andpublic andprivate schools, colleges, and universities Student scholarships for academiccredit or awards for student workFocus Areas & Funding Uses
