Arts & Culture- Production Costs Grants- Performing Arts Organizations

The Production Costs Grants from the City of San Antonio are designed to support performing arts organizations and professional artists by covering essential expenses such as artist fees, labor, marketing, security, and equipment rentals. This initiative aims to enhance the accessibility, quality, and innovation of performing arts programming in the area, ensuring that local nonprofits have the necessary resources to produce engaging performances.

The Department of Arts & Culture offers grants for performing arts organizations and artists. The grant is available to San Antonio nonprofits. It's for those performing arts-producing organizations and professional performing artists. It provides support for the following:

• artist fees
• back-of-house labor fees
• marketing costs for productions already planned
• security costs
• venue and equipment rentals

Eligibility

Eligibility for Performing Arts OrganizationsSan Antonio-based 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit In good standing with Federal, State, City of San Antonio, and Department of Arts & CultureBe a performing arts organizationThree years of actively presenting and producing in San AntonioOver half of overall organizational programming in the performing artsHave an active Board of Directors One application per event/organizationOrganizations with an annual budget exceeding $15,000,000

Ineligibility

The following are not eligible:Governmental, religious, and educational institutionsFundraising and/or debt reduction eventsFiesta eventsPolitical activitiesProductions containing obscene content as defined in Section 43.21 (Texas Penal Code)Private invitation-only eventsEvents that occur at locations where the primary revenue is from food and drink
