Overview

ARIN Fellowship Program

Status: Applications for ARIN 57 Fellowship Program are now closed. Applications will open on 8 January 2026.

Geographic Scope: ARIN region only

Focus Areas:

  • Demonstrated interest in ARIN community and its Policy Development Process

  • Management of Internet number resources

  • Participation in ARIN's policy development activities
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must reside in the ARIN region

  • Must demonstrate interest in ARIN community and Policy Development Process

  • Must understand the importance of ARIN's mission

  • Must be familiar with ARIN services, Internet number resources, and the Number Resource Policy Manual (NRPM)

  • Should be subscribed to ARIN Announce and ARIN Public Policy mailing lists

  • Must participate in all program activities

  • Maximum participation: two nonconsecutive cycles, with only one in-person attendance allowed

  • ARIN generally limits selection to one sponsored Fellow per organization per meeting
  • Selection Process:

  • Selection Committee led by ARIN's Senior Project Manager

  • Includes volunteer representatives from ARIN-elected bodies, General Members in Good Standing, ARIN staff, and former Fellows

  • Committee considers diversity of organization types and geographic locations

  • Special consideration given to ARIN General Members

  • Final approval by ARIN's Chief Experience Officer

  • May designate two alternate awardees

  • All decisions are final and confidential

  • Both in-person and virtual participation opportunities available

    Application Process:
    1. Complete online application form before deadline
    2. Answer all required questions (see list below)
    3. Submit application through designated portal

    Application Questions:
    1. Do you currently reside in the ARIN region?
    2. What is your current role and organization? (Include school name, location, area of study, and expected graduation date if full-time student)
    3. Do you work for an ARIN member or customer organization? (If yes, include ARIN Organization ID)
    4. Have you previously attended an ARIN meeting (in person or virtually)? (If yes, list meetings attended)
    5. Have you previously received an ARIN Fellowship? (If yes, indicate year(s) and format; if no, explain how you learned about the program)
    6. Why are you interested in the ARIN Fellowship Program?
    7. How does this opportunity relate to your current work, studies, or career goals?
    8. What do you hope to gain from the Mentorship and learning experiences provided through the Fellowship Program?
    9. Please describe your familiarity with: IP address management, ARIN policy, IPv6, and Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI)
    10. How are you currently involved with the Internet community? (Professional, academic, technical, policy, or volunteer activities)
    11. How do you envision engaging with ARIN and its community in the future?
    12. Briefly describe your professional or academic background, including relevant experience, skills, or areas of focus that support your interest in the program.
    13. If selected as a Fellow, how would you apply the knowledge and connections gained to benefit your organization, community, or sector?
    14. Do you have any financial need or travel constraints you would like the selection committee to consider?
