NOTE: Self-nominations are welcome. Alvin Plantinga Prize The Alvin Plantinga Prize is funded through the generosity of the Bossenbroek Family Foundation. This prize recognizes original essays that engage philosophical issues about or in substantial ways related to theism. The winner(s) of the award will be presented with their prize check during the annual prize reception at an APA divisional meeting. Funding One prize of $10,000 and up to two honorable mention prizes of $5,000 each

Eligibility

If an essay is co-authored, all authors must be APA members to be eligible for this prize.This prize is for original essays that engage philosophical issues about or in substantial ways related to theism. We invite submissions of unpublished works and works published in the prior calendar year. Submissions must be in English, within the range of 6,000–10,000 words (not including notes or references). Submissions will be assessed according to canons of excellence for which Alvin Plantinga is eminent: clarity, rigor, and originality.Only one essay per author will be considered for this prize (the only exceptions are if the author has different co-authors on two essays, or a co-author on one essay but not the other). If more than one essay per author is nominated, the author will be given the opportunity to select which essay they would like to be considered. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Authors must be members of the APA. If an essay is co-authored, all authors must be APA members to be eligible for this prize.
