Overview
The America-Italy Society of Philadelphia (AIS-Phila) awards up to four scholarships of $2,500 each to outstanding undergraduates enrolled at any accredited college or university in the Greater Philadelphia area who will study abroad in Italy during the coming academic year. Applicants must have completed at least two semester-long college-level Italian courses and be in good academic standing. Open to the public across area institutions (note: University of Pennsylvania students are directed instead to AIS-Phila's separate Penn-only Vittorini Award, which is excluded here as single-institution; the 2026 cycle was also branded the 'William J. Ward, Jr.' scholarship).
