Alexander Eastman Foundation- Community Grants

The Alexander Eastman Foundation offers community grants focusing on health and wellness in the greater Derry area. It supports nonprofit organizations addressing critical health issues such as access to mental health care, obesity, and hunger. The foundation prioritizes educational initiatives that promote community health and strengthen family systems. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and public agencies. The foundation does not fund individual services or replace existing public funding, ensuring support is directed towards community-wide health improvements.

Field of Interest
The Foundation’s interests in the field of health and community wellness are comprehensive and extend to health care, mental health, dental care, developmental and rehabilitative services, health and wellness promotion, health and wellness education, disease, accident prevention, nutrition and wellness.
Purpose
The purposes of the Alexander Eastman Foundation are served through grant support to organizations awarded in response to proposals and special initiative commitments planned collaboratively by the Foundation with local service providers. Grants are awarded to support the capital, special projects and operations needs of qualifying organizations.
Program Priorities
The Foundation is seeking grant applications for programs which are focused on addressing local food and housing insecurities within the communities we serve.

Eligibility

Nonprofit 501(c) 3 organizations with public charity status and public agencies serving the greater Derry area are eligible to apply.The Foundation supports activity which benefits the greater Derry area, the region from which patients of the Alexander Eastman Hospital were drawn.

Ineligibility

Grants are made neither to individuals nor to qualifying organizations to support the cost of services to particular individuals, except through the Alexander Eastman Scholarship Program.The Foundation will not replace public or other funding available to support basic services.Although renewable commitments to important programs are made over several years, the Foundation does not provide ongoing general operating support or underwrite programs indefinitely.
