Overview
Alabama Poultry Farm Family of the Year Award
Purpose: Recognizing the top poultry producing family in Alabama annually since 1990, excelling in overall performance as growers/producers, dedication to family, and service to community.
Geographic Scope: Alabama
Focus Areas: Broiler production, pullet/breeder production; overall farm performance, family dedication, and community service
Eligibility: Broiler growers, pullet growers, and breeder growers in Alabama. Nominations can come from production managers, breeders, or broiler managers.
Award Details:
Additional Benefits: The person responsible for nominating the farm family winners receives two tickets to the "Evening of Fun" concert
Nomination Term: Nominated farms remain in the program for a three-year term unless otherwise notified
Selection Process: Nominations reviewed by a selection committee appointed by the APEA president
Funding Source: Generous donations from Alabama Ag Credit, Alabama Farm Credit, and First South Farm Credit
2026 Announcement: Winners announced at the "Evening of Fun" concert on June 6, 2026

Application Process
1. Nominate a farm family that excels in the nominated areas
2. Complete nomination form with required information
3. Submit by deadline: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
Required Information
- Nominator Information: Name, farm name, address, phone, email, complex
- Nominee Information: Farm family name and contact details
- Biographical outline of nominee family
- Farm description: Description of farm and poultry enterprise
- Performance record: Record of performance in the poultry enterprise
- Public service and community involvement: Committees served on, association memberships, community/church activities (including all family members)
- Additional considerations: Environmental stewardship and energy conservation (daily mortality management, waste management plan, litter storage, conservation practices)
