ALA Internship Program - Latvia and USA

Overview: Since 2015, ALA offers a unique opportunity for young people of Latvian descent aged 20-29 to work internships in Latvia and in Latvian organizations in the USA.

Purpose: Internship work attracts young people to useful, purposeful work that will later be beneficial in academic and professional life. The program offers Latvian descent youth an authentic and substantive personal connection not only to Latvian culture but to Latvia itself and to the Latvian diaspora in the USA.

Geographic Scope:

  • Internship Program in Latvia: positions available in Latvia

  • Internship Program in USA: positions available in Latvian institutions in the USA and major Latvian organizations in the USA

    • Eligibility:

  • Young people of Latvian descent

  • Ages 20-29 years old

    • Award Details:

  • Interns from the USA can apply for a $2,500 USD stipend that covers travel and accommodation expenses in the city where the internship is located

    • Program Features:

  • Some internship positions offered in English (USA program)

  • Provides substantive professional experience
