Overview
This joint awards program recognizes exceptional design by AIA and ASLA members in the tri-state area. The awards recognize projects that reflect commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and civic architecture. Both built and unbuilt projects are reviewed for innovative design approaches to transportation and infrastructure.- Structures: Design excellence in commissioned and completed buildings, bridges, tunnels, and mixed-use development
- Planning: Urban planning, studies, design guides, advocacy, and regional scale planning; commissioned and completed master plans and planning reports
- Open Space: Design excellence in parks, constructed wetlands, and resilient sites
- Projects: Conceptual, unfinished, or unbuilt work (Note: Projects awarded in this category become ineligible for future awards once realized)
- Student Award: Excellence in projects from Structures, Planning, and Open Space categories for students in accredited programs

- Honor Award - Represents the highest level of achievement
- Merit Award - Represents distinguished achievement
- Citation - Represents exemplary achievements on specific project aspects
- Best in Competition - Selected from Honor Award winners by jurors
