Agricultural Reinvestment Fund

Overview: A competitive grant program providing cost-share grants to farmer-led projects in North Carolina. Originally called the Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Fund when initiated in 1997.

    Impact: Over 500 farmers and collaborative groups have been helped over the program's history. In 2016, the program awarded grants to 25 farmer-led projects in its 19th year of operation.

    Historical Results: The related Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Fund created over 4,100 jobs and $733 million in economic benefits by investing $3.6 million in farmers (generating $205 of economic activity per dollar invested).
