Geographic Scope: Rutherford County, Tennessee

Mission: The Charity Circle Mission Statement states that monies shall only be given to agencies that serve the basic needs of Rutherford County, Tennessee citizens.

Funding Focus

Eligible Basic Needs:

• Food
• Clothing
• Shelter
• Medicine
• Related needs such as medical, developmental, protective programs
• Some literacy and counseling programs (considered on a case-by-case basis as funds are available)

What They Don't Fund

• Administrative costs - No grant money may be used for administrative costs

Eligibility

• Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
• Must serve basic needs of Rutherford County, Tennessee citizens
• Must be registered with or exempt from charitable solicitation requirements in Tennessee

Timeline

• Application Deadline: November 15 (annually)
• Distribution Timeline: Monies are typically distributed in mid to late February

1. First page of latest 990 filed
2. Most current financial statement
3. Current budget
4. Proof of charitable solicitation registration or exemption thereof from the state of Tennessee
5. List of board of directors

Additional Requirements for First-Time Applicants:

1. Copy of IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
2. Agency mission statement
3. Copies of past five 990s filed (first page only)
