AFS Global You Adventurer Partial Scholarship

Program Type: Partial scholarship for virtual/online intercultural learning program

    • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Between 14 and 17 years old on program start date (turning 18 during program is permissible)

  • Proficiency in English (able to read, comment, and understand live sessions)

  • Access to computer, smartphone, or digital device with integrated webcam and microphone

  • Stable internet/wifi connection

  • Available to participate in full AFS Global You Adventurer program for desired dates

  • Must submit response (≤1,000 characters) on how their community could be improved by embracing diversity

  • Commitment to share follow-up reflection (≤1,000 characters) after program completion

    • Award Details:

  • Partial scholarship funds are not guaranteed

  • Award amounts based on available funds at time of application

  • First-come, first-served basis

  • Priority given to students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities

  • Spanish-language cohorts available periodically

    • Notification: Selected awardees notified via email prior to cohort start date and must accept/decline in writing

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Current Status: Partial scholarship applications are currently closed. Check the AFS Global You Adventurer program page for when applications reopen.

    2. Required Materials:
    - Response to prompt: "How could your community be improved by embracing the power of diversity?" (maximum 1,000 characters)
    - Commitment to provide follow-up reflection after program completion (maximum 1,000 characters)

    3. Selection Process:
    - Scholarships awarded on first-come, first-served basis
    - Ordered by applicants' desired program start dates
    - Priority given to students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities

    4. After Selection:
    - Awardees notified via email
    - Provided secure payment link to complete remaining tuition payment
    - Must accept or decline award in writing via email
