Overview

African-American Community Foundation - William A. Lumpkin Endowed Scholarship The William A. Lumpkin Endowed Scholarship was created by Mr. Lumpkin in 2019 to enhance opportunities for higher education for students graduating from Dayton Public or Trotwood-Madison High Schools. It is Mr. Lumpkin''s belief that, because parents, coaches and teachers invested in his growth and development, he now has an obligation to help pave the way for those in subsequent generations. He rejects the notion that students coming from beleaguered school districts are ill-prepared, but may indeed have a different set of experiences, and that those experiences can still work together for a student's ultimate success. Mr. Lumpkin believes in the limitless potential of students from Dayton Public and Trotwood-Madison High Schools and trusts the scholarships provided from this fund will instill confidence, passion and a desire to dream big for students who are committed to achieving their goal of a higher education.
