AEESP Outstanding Publication Award Grant

The AEESP Outstanding Publication Award honors landmark papers in environmental engineering and science that have significantly influenced the field. It is awarded annually to living authors of eligible papers, with nominations made by non-authors. Recipients receive a plaque, a $500 cash prize, and a $750 travel allowance for the ceremony. Nominations must adhere to specific guidelines and are valid for three years. Previous winners are ineligible for re-nomination during this period.

This award is given annually to recognize the author(s) of a "landmark environmental engineering and science paper that has withstood the test of time and significantly influenced the practice of environmental engineering and science." At least one of the authors must be living and previous winners are ineligible for a period of three years. The recipient of this award will receive a plaque, a cash prize of $500, and a $750 travel allotment to attend the awards ceremony.
Nominations must be made by individuals who are not authors or co-authors of the paper. Past nominations will be carried over and considered for three years and may be modified during this period. Refer to the nomination package for the required submission requirements. Nomination packages that are incomplete or exceed page length maximums will not be reviewed.

Eligibility

At least one of the authors of the paper must be living.Requirements for nominators and letter writers:One nomination per cycle per award for a given category may be submitted by a single nominator.There is no limit on the number of nomination packages to which an individual letter writer may contribute.If a single individual is serving as a nominator or letter writer for more than one nominee during a single cycle, they will be contacted to provide a ranking of their contributions before the committee's review.Complete nomination package includes:Nomination letter (2-page maximum) that gives the full citation of the paper, the reasons why the paper is considered a landmark, a description of the influence the paper has had on environmental engineering and science, and a 150 character (maximum including punctuation and spacing) citation of the nominees that may be used by the presenter when the winners are announced,
Clear electronic copy of the publication,
At least two, but no more than five, additional letters of support. Each letter should be limited to no more than two pages with a minimum of 11-point font size of Times New Roman, Calibri, or Arial,
Full current contact information for the authors of the publication.

Ineligibility

Previous winners of the award are ineligible for a period of three (3) years.Nomination packages that are incomplete or exceed page length maximums will not be reviewed.
