Overview

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) provides funds for Connecticut adult education program in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes (C.G.S.) Sections 10-67 through 10-73d. State grants are based upon a percentage of eligible costs. Funds are provided to Providing Districts, which includes each eligible agency or school district that will provide an adult education program and seek state funds.

In order to be eligible, an LEA either provides its own program, arranges with a Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) to provide such programs, forms an informal cooperative arrangement with one or more boards of education and/or establishes with one or more boards a cooperative arrangement according to the provisions of Section 10-158a of the C.G.S.
