Summary

The 3VCF Community Impact Grants aim to empower local nonprofits in addressing critical community needs, particularly in mental health, health equity, and environmental sustainability. For 2024, Three Valleys Community Foundation is expanding its grantmaking focus to include diverse and innovative proposals that respond to pressing health issues. Collaborative efforts among organizations are encouraged to foster impactful solutions and promote community well-being.

Overview

Community Impact Grant Grantmaking is a cornerstone of how community foundations empower local nonprofits to carry out essential work and foster transformative change within our community. Responding to identified needs is paramount, and quality of life and overall community health (physical, mental, economic and environmental), consistently rank as top priorities in the community health needs assessments conducted by regional healthcare systems and the Eastern Alameda Community Needs Assessment. Building on the momentum and success of our two prior rounds of Community Impact Grantmaking, we are expanding our focus for 2026. Along with mental health and wellness, this year’s Community Health Impact Grants will also prioritize physical health, access to resources and healthcare, economic vitality / stability, and environmental health and sustainability – ensuring a more holistic approach to community well-being. Aligned with our core values of Collaboration and Innovation, Three Valleys Community Foundation invites grant applications that advance mental health and wellness, physical health, access to resources and healthcare, economic vitality, and/or environmental health and sustainability We encourage a wide range of perspectives and approaches, proven or emerging, broad or targeted. We especially value collaborative proposals that bring together two or more organizations to amplify impact.
