These visionaries secured the future of the Foundation by establishing an Endowed Founder’s Fund.
William F. and Janet A. Johnson Scholarship - (2) $2,000
William (Bill) Johnson was a successful iron “metal pounder,” from building grain-handling and elevator equipment to his feed mill. He also restored burned farm equipment to look new. He also enjoyed being a farmer and stockman. Bill never had the opportunity to further his education beyond grade school, but his accomplishments proved that school achievements aren’t always a full measure of an individual’s potential to succeed. This scholarship was established in 2014 in loving memory of Bill by his wife and lifelong business partner, Janet, who wishes to extend Bill’s legacy of hard work and success to young people of Dickinson County who seek to specialize in a trade.
