Overview

Triangle Fraternity Undergraduate Scholarships

Overview: The Triangle Education Foundation awards over 20 scholarships annually to deserving active members of Triangle Fraternity who excel in academics, Chapter leadership, and campus/community involvement.

General Eligibility Requirements:
1. Be active members of Triangle Fraternity enrolled in a course of study leading to a degree
2. Initiated undergraduates in the school year following application
3. Have completed at least two full academic years of school as of time of award (generally summer after application)
4. Maintain at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA (except where notated below)
5. Demonstrate financial need and personal effort to earn part of education costs
6. Demonstrate appropriate social skills through active involvement with chapter, campus, and community

Available Scholarships:

    The James Rust Scholarship

  • Award: One award of $6,500
  • Criteria: Combination of need, grades, and participation in campus and Triangle activities
  • Preference: Core engineering disciplines or "hard" sciences

    The Mortin Scholarship

  • Criteria: Combination of need, grades, and participation in campus and Triangle activities

    The Sevcik Scholarship

  • Award: One award annually
  • Criteria: Based on need
  • Preference: Ohio State students; Engineering students and/or minority students

    The Kapadia Scholarship

  • Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate Triangle in good standing
  • Award: Range from $1,500 to $5,000 (number and size determined by committee)
  • Preference: Engineering majors; non-US citizens; members of Zoroastrian religion; Michigan State students

    The Peter and Barbara Bye Scholarship

  • Award: Annual
  • Criteria: Combination of need and grades (Minimum 2.7/4.0 GPA)
  • Preference: Cornell University Triangle chapter members (if recolonized)

    Pierce E. Healey Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: Annual
  • Criteria: Grades, chapter, campus, and civic participation

    James Marshall pur65 Triangle Volunteers Scholarship

  • Criteria: Combination of need, grades, and participation in campus and Triangle activities
  • Purpose: Recognition of volunteer contributions to Triangle

    Kevin Robertson marq92 Triangle Presidents Scholarship

  • Criteria: Combination of need, grades, and participation in campus and Triangle activities
  • Purpose: Recognition of Triangle Presidents' contributions

    The Foglesong Family Minority Student Scholarship

  • Criteria: Members from underrepresented populations majoring in engineering, architecture, or science; minimum 2.7/4.0 GPA; track record of service to chapter and community; demonstrate financial need
  • Focus: Diversity in engineering, architecture, and science

    Jeffrey D. McClelland nu77 Memorial Scholarship

  • Award: One award annually
  • Criteria: Financial need, demonstrates social skills, minimum 2.7/4.0 GPA
  • Purpose: Memorialize Jeff's dedication to Triangle experience

    The Purdue Class of 1958 Scholarship

  • Award: One award annually
  • Criteria: Based on need and display of social skills
  • Preference: Purdue students

    Louise & Bill Schmitt pur61 Scholarship

  • Award: One award annually
  • Criteria: Community involvement; minimum 2.7/4.0 GPA
  • Preference: Purdue chapter members; Chemical Engineering majors

    The John Sonnenburg Scholarship

  • Award: Annual
  • Criteria: Financial need in qualified Triangle area of study; minimum 2.7/4.0 GPA
  • Preference: Purdue chapter members (but open to all)

    The Edward and Isabell Larson Memorial Fellowship for Graduate Study

  • Award: One award annually
  • Eligibility: Triangle pursuing master's or doctoral program
  • Focus: Engineering
