Thos Rohr College Scholarship
Funder: Waikoloa Land Company
Geographic Scope: State of Hawaii
Purpose: To assist a full-time college student with the cost of tuition for one year in his/her pursuit of college study. This scholarship is for tuition only.
Background: The Thos Rohr College Scholarship is sponsored by Waikoloa Land Company in the name of Thos Rohr. Thos Rohr, "The Commish," former President of Waikoloa Land Company, has a 50-plus year history of significant contributions to the game of golf, the Hawaiʻi golf industry and various golf communities and organizations.
Rohr was the recipient of the 2007 Distinguished Service Award by the Aloha Section PGA, an award not given annually but awarded to individuals for unique contributions and dedicated service in the development and promotion of the golf industry in Hawaiʻi. As past President of Kapalua Land Co. (Maui), Rohr built the Bay and Village Courses with Arnold Palmer. At Waikoloa Beach Resort, Rohr renovated the Robert Trent Jones Beach Course and built the Kings' Course in partnership with Tom Weiskopf, and conceived and instituted the "Kings' Cup" and "TieBreaker" golf tournaments. He is a member of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, Scotland and a founder of Kingsbarns Golf Links.

Application Process
1. Complete one unified scholarship application for all available HSJGA scholarships
2. PRINT the application before submitting
3. Submit recommendation letters from at least two (2) reputable people from the community

4. Submit an official copy of your most current GPA and/or school transcript of grades
