Overview

Neuroendovascular Surgery Fellowship The Baptist Health Neuroendovascular Surgery Fellowship is a two-year program providing comprehensive clinical experience in diagnostic cerebral/spinal angiography, stroke thrombectomy/revascularization and embolization of vascular pathologies of the brain and spine. Fellows are trained to be confident and proficient operators experienced in the most advanced procedural techniques and novel devices. With an annual case volume of more than 1,000 cases, Fellows gain broad exposure to diagnostic cerebral/spinal angiography, embolization of intracranial aneurysms and vascular malformations, management of acute ischemic stroke, carotid revascularization, tumor embolization, middle meningeal artery embolization and congenital vascular anomalies. First-year fellows build strong fundamentals in diagnostic angiography and stroke interventions while also gaining experience in the clinical management of neurovascular patients. Second-year fellows learn advanced techniques in stroke and interventional procedures to become safe and competent independent operators. Research and education are important aspects of the fellowship with monthly case conferences and program participation in major aneurysm and stroke trials, in addition to industry device first-releases. The program is based at Baptist Health’s flagship hospital, Baptist Hospital of Miami, an over 900-bed facility that houses the world-class Miami Cancer Institute, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, and Miami Neuroscience Institute. Eligibility

Completion of one of the following pathways:ACGME-accredited Neurosurgical ResidencyACGME-accredited Neurology Residency and a Vascular Neurology or Neurocritical Care FellowshipACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency and a Neuroradiology Fellowship (must include 6+ months of focused clinical service in Neurosurgery, Vascular Neurology, or Neurointensive Care)International applicants must hold a valid ECFMG certificate and have completed a comparable residency training at their institution in addition to at least one year of ACGME-accredited training.
