Teacher Leaders Program

Overview: The Teacher Leaders Program (TLP) brings together a select group of educators throughout the school year to learn how to take active leadership roles in their schools, unions and communities.

Geographic Scope: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Focus Areas:

  • Leadership development in schools, unions, and communities

  • Collaboration, research, and advocacy skills

  • Understanding policy issues and making recommendations through unions

  • Local and national dialogue on education

  • Building relationships with local policymakers and community leaders

  • Connecting practice, research, and policy
  • Eligibility:

  • Educators working in Saint Paul Public Schools

  • Must be able to commit to full year participation
  • Key Features:

  • Year-long cohort program

  • Participants serve as sounding board and advisory group for union leaders

  • Funded through the American Federation of Teachers
