Overview

Teacher Grant

Funder: Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers' Association (GLBMA)

Purpose: Provide funding for educational projects that align with GLBMA's mission to educate local youth about manufacturing and the region's industrial history

Geographic Scope: Michigan counties including Arenac, Bay, Iosco, Midland, Saginaw, and Tuscola

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a teacher at a public, private, parochial, charter, or home school association/group
  • School must be located in one of the six eligible Michigan counties

    Award Details

  • Maximum Award: Up to $500 per grant
  • Frequency: Multiple grants may be awarded during each grant cycle
  • Limitation: One award per teacher/project

    Eligible Uses of Funds

  • Busing and transportation
  • Guest speakers
  • Off-site event lunches (e.g., Chamber or EDA luncheons with manufacturing/skilled trades focus)
  • Field trips
  • Equipment or materials not available through traditional funding that encourage or strengthen skilled trades education

    Application Deadlines

  • January 15th each year
  • October 15th each year
  • Awards announced following the next GLBMA board meeting after each deadline
