Texas Society of Architects Studio Awards

Program Description: The Texas Society of Architects Studio Awards recognize unbuilt projects that demonstrate excellence in design that are either real or theoretical.

Award Focus

The jury looks for entries that:
• Embody strong ideas critical to contemporary practice
• Resolve these ideas thoroughly
• Present them clearly

Eligible Project Types

The TxA Studio Awards seek to recognize a broad range of project types, addressing a full spectrum of architectural innovations and urban solutions:
• Unbuilt design projects (real or theoretical)
• Projects addressing current critical issues
• Urban planning projects
• Interior or landscape architecture
• Designs can go beyond the boundaries of architecture

Entry Evaluation Criteria

Entries should demonstrate the following design features:
• Positive impact on individuals and communities that use the project
• Effectiveness in accomplishing the goals of clients and users
• Strong ideas critical to contemporary practice
• Sustainability and energy efficiency
• Appropriateness of visual character

Entry Fees (Non-Refundable)

• $140 per entry for TxA, AIA, and NOMA members
• $45 per entry for faculty or students
• $250 per entry for non-members
