Stan Harter Memorial Scholarship

Overview: A $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to timed event cowboys competing at the CNFR.

Award Purpose: Support for athletes competing in timed events (calf roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping)

Background: Named after Stan Harter, who:

  • Competed for Arizona State University

  • Was 1966 NIRA champion in both calf roping and ribbon roping

  • Had a successful professional rodeo career

  • Was a long-time supporter of college rodeo

  • Served as NIRA Alumni president
  • Selection: Made possible by Daniel Harter Family (Stan's son) and other donors

    Eligibility:

  • College rodeo athletes

  • Must compete in timed events at CNFR

  • NIRA members
  • Geographic Scope: United States - all NIRA members eligible
