Overview: A $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to timed event cowboys competing at the CNFR.

Award Purpose: Support for athletes competing in timed events (calf roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping)

Background: Named after Stan Harter, who:

Competed for Arizona State University

Was 1966 NIRA champion in both calf roping and ribbon roping

Had a successful professional rodeo career

Was a long-time supporter of college rodeo

Served as NIRA Alumni president

Selection: Made possible by Daniel Harter Family (Stan's son) and other donors

Eligibility:

College rodeo athletes

Must compete in timed events at CNFR

NIRA members

Geographic Scope: United States - all NIRA members eligible
