REACH Grants for Educators
Overview: The REACH Grants program funds projects which pioneer innovative approaches to teaching that cannot currently be funded through the NPPS District budget. The goal is to give educators financial support to inspire students and change lives.
Background: Since its inception in 1994, more than $271,000 has been given to North Platte educators through the REACH grant program since 1998.

How to Apply
REACH Grant Application Process
Application Timeline:
1. Applications will open June 1, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year
2. Applications are submitted online
3. Applications are reviewed by an independent grant committee, including NPPSD curriculum advisors and a member of the NPPSD IT team
Application Steps:
1. Discuss your project idea with your building administrator before submitting
2. Complete the online REACH Grant application
3. Submit application through the online portal
4. Grant committee reviews applications using REACH Grant Policy Guidelines
5. If funded, provide a summary of how the funds were used
Evaluation Criteria - Projects Must:
1. Demonstrate innovative and effective ways to meet student needs and be curricular in nature
2. Pioneer new approaches instead of merely repeating an existing project (renewal of projects are appropriate)
3. Not be currently eligible for support through the North Platte Public Schools' budget
4. Increase student adjustment, interest and motivation to learn
5. Meet the educational goals or mission of North Platte Public Schools, its buildings' strategic plans and/or the needs of its students
6. Encourage team/joint application (teams supported)
