Outstanding Staff Award

Purpose: To foster an environment where employees are recognized for the important contributions that they make to Green River College. Outstanding staff should embody the very best of the core values of GRC.

Eligibility

Individual Staff:

  • Must be employed at GRC on a permanent basis (classified, exempt, or administrator)

  • Can be nominated for various contributions and achievements
  • Work Teams:

  • Loosely defined as any group of two or more employees

  • Work together toward a common purpose

  • Examples: committees, departments, task forces, teams within a department
  • Special Recognition:

  • The Rutkowski Achievement Award (formerly Body of Work Award)

  • Recognizes employees for contributions to Green River that span numerous years and create a hallmark of performance

  • Awarded only when fitting given its extraordinary level of achievement

    How to Apply

    Nomination Process and Timeline

    #### Step 1: Identify Nominators

  • Nominations can be made by any employee or student of Green River College

  • Individual staff members or work teams can be nominated
  • #### Step 2: Complete Nomination Form
    1. Nominator completes official nomination form
    2. Nominator provides written description (no more than one page) explaining why nominee merits recognition

    #### Step 3: Gather Letters of Support
    1. Nominator must recruit between 2-4 additional people to write support letters
    2. Each letter should be no more than one page
    3. All letters must be submitted by 5:00 PM on May 15, 2026

    #### Step 4: Nomination Packet Assembly

  • Nomination form

  • Nominator's one-page description

  • 2-4 support letters (one page each)

  • Subtotal: 4-6 pages
  • #### Step 5: Nominee Response (Optional)
    1. Nominee will be notified after nomination packet received
    2. Nominee has opportunity to add up to 2 pages of material
    3. Total packet should not exceed 7 pages
