Overview: The One Northside Mini-grant Program invests $50,000 in awards and development support for community-driven projects. The program seeks to strengthen connections and create opportunity throughout the 18 Northside neighborhoods. It was previously known as 'Neighbor to Neighbor' when managed by The Sprout Fund.

- Amount: Up to $1,000 per project
- Taxable: Taxable if recipient is not a 501(c)(3)

- Rolling basis: Applications accepted on ongoing basis
- Review Schedule: Reviewed monthly with decisions announced around the end of each summer month (June, July, August)
- Winter cycle: October, November, December
- Additional deadlines: October 25 and November 19 (2018)
- Applications accepted until funds are expended

Four trained Northside residents provide recruitment and applicant support:They received training from Levels Creative Empowerment + Consulting Group
- Senior Citizens Craft Education: combats social isolation, reconnects older adults through floral crafting skills
- The Comic Book Shop: afterschool reading program using graphic novels for reading fluency development

How to Apply
1. Application Methods:
- Submit printed application at Allegheny and Woods Run Carnegie Libraries during normal business hours
- Submit by postal mail to: New Sun Rising, attn. One Northside Mini-Grant, P.O. Box 58005, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15209
- Submit online application (link available at newsunrising.org/project/ignite-northside)
- Email as attachment to: grants@newsunrising.org
2. Application Timeline:
- Rolling basis - applications accepted on ongoing basis
- Reviewed monthly with decisions announced around the end of each summer month (June, July, August)
