Mission Ockenden International aims to support the rights of all refugees and displaced people – in any location – to a life of dignity and to help them achieve self-reliance and independence. Ockenden International Prizes Ockenden International, renowned for its work for and with refugees for more than 70 years, has launched its 12th annual contest to find and reward the most effective self-reliance projects for refugees and/or displaced people. Submissions are now being accepted for the Ockenden International Prizes for projects proven to advance refugee self-reliance, and which reward and recognise the agency, dignity and autonomy of refugees and forced migrants anywhere. The entries will be judged by a panel of experts who will be looking for highly effective projects that have led to real change in people’s lives, with measurable evidence of outcomes. Funding There are five GBP25,000 cash awards to be won in the 2025 prizes, which reward the most effective refugee self-reliance projects. The new, fifth, prize will be for a project or program that has successfully advanced self-reliance for refugees and asylum-seekers living in the United Kingdom.Eligibility

Open to not-for-profit organisations, registered with their relevant official national and/or local government bodies.All entries – and supporting documentation, including financials and accounts – must be in English and USD or GBP.Organisations may submit one entry only in each prize year. Unsuccessful organisations are welcome to reapply in future years.The not-for-profit organisation must be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of its entered program/project, preferably with measurable evidence of positive outcomes.The project/program entered must be up-and-running before March 1, 2024: i.e. it must have been established and operational for a minimum of six months.Entrants must include a copy of the entered project’s latest audited accounts with their application.Organisations must have high standards of financial and administrative governance.Ineligibility
