Overview: NEA-Alaska awards scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a degree in education after high school.
Award Amount: Between $1,000 and $5,000 depending on the number of applicants, their eligibility, and assessment of applications by the regional NEA-Alaska Scholarship Review Committee.

How to Apply
Application Requirements
1. Complete Application Form - Entire form must be completed
2. Current Resume including:
- Work experience
- Volunteer experience
- Leadership positions
- Involvement in school or community programs, sports, or clubs
- Awards, recognitions, & accomplishments
3. Certified Official High School Transcript
- Must have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA to be considered
4. Proof of Acceptance to a post-secondary educational institution
5. Essay (500-750 words) addressing:
- Why you wish to pursue a degree in education
- What qualities you possess and experiences you have had that will make you a strong educator
6. Two Letters of Reference:
- One from someone from your current school
- One from outside of your current school (examples include but are not limited to: employers, church leaders, or family friends)
