Navy SEAL Foundation Scholarship Program

Overview: Merit-based scholarship program for active duty Navy SEALs, SWCCs, veterans, spouses, and dependent children of the Naval Special Warfare community.

Geographic Scope: United States

Focus Areas:

      Dependent Children

    • Active Duty SEAL high school senior or college-age dependent children
    • Active Duty SWCC high school senior or college-age dependent children
    • SEAL and SWCC Retiree (over 20 years AD service or medically retired) high school senior or college-age dependent children
    • Gold Star high school senior or college-age children
    • College-age dependent defined as 26 years of age or under, unmarried

    Award Details:

  • Merit-based scholarships with varying award amounts

  • Veteran Education Living Stipend (VELS): $2,500 – $5,000 based on family size

  • Awards are non-transferrable to other applicants or family members

  • If awarded, applicants have up to one year to use scholarship funds; unused funds returned to NSF
  • What Funds Can Cover:

  • Current academic-related expenses through institutions

  • Cannot be used for: reimbursement for prior academic expenses, professional licensure renewals, student loans, or child care

  • Payments made to educational institutions, not individuals

  • Checks mailed to recipient's home address to forward to school/institution
