Nassau BOCES Educational Foundation Grant Program
Geographic Scope: Nassau BOCES (New York, US)
Program Description: Grants for Nassau BOCES classroom projects that are innovative, creative, and research-based.
- Projects must be innovative and creative ideas
- Must incorporate support of the best research in teaching and learning
- Goals should be replicable and have potential to serve many Nassau BOCES students
- Projects must be outside the funding of normal operating budgets
- Three comparison quotes required for purchasing items
Key Requirements
- Does NOT fund: Projects involving hiring outside consultants or trainers (training costs required for curriculum/program implementation must be included in the curriculum/program cost and listed in project budget)
Funding Restrictions
- Applicants must be Nassau BOCES staff/educators
- Applications must have approval and signatures from: - Applicant - Building principal or supervisor - Department director - District Superintendent review
Eligibility
Award Process
1. Grant proposals reviewed by Foundation Board of Directors 2. Based on available funds and merit, Board selects recommended grants 3. Nassau BOCES Board provides final acceptance or rejection 4. If accepted, special budget set up in general fund- Maintain all records of money spent, receipts, and disbursements
- Provide tri-fold board (provided by Foundation) with pictures and information for Nassau BOCES Education Partners Award Gala
- Complete Grant Evaluation form during grant progress

1. Grant Application (PDF) - Fillable PDF with character limits noted on form 2. Financial Worksheet (Excel) - Includes built-in formulas 3. Rubric Form (PDF) - To be completed by principal/supervisorSubmission Steps
1. Download all three required forms from the website 2. Complete the Grant Application (fillable PDF) - Type all responses - If additional information needed, attach a typed document - Review carefully for spelling, grammar, and clarity 3. Complete the Financial Worksheet (Excel) - Replace sample text and amounts with project information - Remove sections that do not apply 4. Print and attach the Rubric Form 5. Have principal or supervisor: - Complete the rubric - Sign the application to indicate approval 6. Forward all three documents to the director- Only typed and complete applications will be accepted
- All required signatures must be present before submission
- Applications without all required signatures cannot be considered
- Three comparison quotes required for items to be purchased
- Good proofreading strengthens proposal and ensures efficient review
