Maynard K. Hine Award
Overview: Named for the first chancellor of the Indianapolis campus, the Maynard K. Hine Award recognizes individual alumni who have made significant contributions in support of the IU Indianapolis campus and its alumni program.
Purpose: To honor alumni who support IU Indianapolis and recognize accomplishments of remarkable alumni who make significant contributions to the IU Indianapolis campus.

Focus Areas:
Award Nature: A bronze medal of Dr. Hine commissioned for presentation to each recipient
Presentation: Annual IU Indianapolis Alumni Leaders Dinner
History: Awards committee formed in 1973 after need for this type of award was identified. Award named after Maynard K. Hine, the first chancellor of the IU Indianapolis campus and former dean of the IU School of Dentistry, who believed that a strong alumni program is essential.
Additional Recognition (Starting 2022): Schools and units have the opportunity to recognize their alumni leaders at the annual IU Indianapolis Alumni Leaders Dinner event.

Instructions: Provide complete and thorough information about the nominee to allow selection committee to fully consider the nomination
Required Information:
- School alumni and advisory boards
- Participation in campus initiatives
- Corporate committees
- Affiliate groups participation
- Please include dates of service
- Differentiate volunteer services and contributions versus job duties if employed by the University
- Specific examples of nominee's achievements relative to campus
- Two letters of recommendation
- If nominee is university employee, differentiate contributions as employee from contributions as alum
- Services provided by nominee
