MAP Fund Grant Program
Status: RETIRED as of December 2024
The MAP Fund's national grantmaking program for individual artists has been retired. According to a December 12, 2024 announcement, MAP Fund is no longer accepting applications for its primary grant program due to changes in funding support from foundations and government agencies.
Historical Overview (1989-2024):
MAP (originally the Multi-Arts Production Fund) was established in 1989 by The Rockefeller Foundation to support innovation and cross-cultural exploration in new works of live performance. For over 35 years, it was one of the longest-running private funding sources for new performance works in the United States and territories, awarding more than $40 million to thousands of artists.
