Its priority areas include: supporting educational attainment and early-childhood development; strengthening human services and economic opportunity; promoting the arts, culture, and heritage; and fostering collaboration, inclusivity, and capacity-building across the nonprofit sector. MacDonald/Hjerpe Scholarship This scholarship supports graduating seniors from New Britain, Plainville, and Farmington High Schools who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and clear educational goals. Eligible applicants must have a C+ or higher GPA and plan to attend a public two-year or four-year college or university. Preference is given to students pursuing careers in the sciences, education, or human services, as well as those who will not be receiving substantial other scholarships. The award aims to help hardworking students overcome financial barriers and achieve success in fields that contribute to the well-being of others and their communities.
