Background The MAC Scholarship was established in February 2020 in memory of Mark Andrew (Andy) Creery, Jr., in accordance with the wishes of his beloved family and friends. An aficionado of all forms of academic achievement, intense political debate, his Cuban heritage, and the Wu Tang Clan, Mark Andrew Creery, Jr. was among the first students selected from Hanover County to attend the Governors School for Government & International Studies, graduating and continuing his education at James Madison University and Virginia Commonwealth University. He devoted much of his time to the Richmond Volleyball Club, serving as the Chairman of the Board the last years of his life.
