About Us

The Community Foundation of Dickinson County, Inc. was established in 1999 by a group of civic-minded individuals who cherished their community and wanted to ensure future generations experience the same quality of living they had received in Dickinson County. These visionaries secured the future of the Foundation by establishing an Endowed Founder’s Fund.

Loren and Alberta Noel Scholarship - (1) $750

The Loren & Alberta Noel Family established this scholarship in 2005 as a legacy to their parents' lives. The Noels, who raised their family and farmed in the northern part of Dickinson County, attended Talmage United Methodist Church. Both Loren and Alberta were active in the community, volunteering and offering their services to organizations and neighbors in need. The Noel's felt it was important to give back to their community.

Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is intended to assist graduating seniors or previous graduates of Abilene High School, Chapman High School, or Solomon High School with a strong academic record who wish to pursue higher education.

Eligibility

* Scholarship Requirements:
* Applicant must be a graduating senior or previous graduate of Abilene High School, Chapman High School, or Solomon High School.
* Applicant must have earned at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
* Applicant must attend a four-year college, community college, or technical college.
* Previous recipients may re-apply through the competitive selection process.
* Statement/essay of at least 100-200 words describing why you want to go to college to include financial need.
* The following should be uploaded to complete the application:
* Three recommendations one recommendation from a teacher, one recommendation from a community member, and one recommendation from an employer.
* Current résumé detailing academic and extracurricular activities.
* Copy of most recent academic transcript.
* Current headshot.
