Overview: A $2,000 scholarship honoring longtime NIRA commissioner John Smith, awarded to NIRA members pursuing graduate-level education.

Award Purpose: Support for continuing education at the graduate level

Eligibility:

Must be a NIRA member

Must be pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited institution

Preference for athletes who have competed at the CNFR

Example: Recipient was spring graduate with bachelor's degree in agricultural business and economics, qualified for CNFR in breakaway roping, and pursuing graduate studies

Geographic Scope: United States - all NIRA members eligible
