Implementing Zero Suicide in Health Systems

The purpose of this program is to implement the Zero Suicide intervention and prevention model for adults within a health system(s). The Zero Suicide model is a comprehensive, multi-setting approach to suicide prevention and grant recipients will be expected to implement all seven elements of the Zero Suicide framework: Lead, Train, Identify, Engage, Treat, Transition, and Improve.

Eligible Uses

Required activities include but are not limited to establishing a Zero Suicide Oversight Steering Council. developing and implementing healthcare workforce training programs, developing and implementing a plan to screen and assess all individuals, and designing suicide care management guidelines and implementing suicide care management policies. Allowable but not required activities include but are not limited to implementing community engagement activities and participating in the Zero Suicide Institute (ZSI)'s national data collection effort.
