HANYC Foundation Scholarship Awards
Overview: The HANYC Foundation offers scholarships to support higher education for children of hotel industry employees. Each scholarship award is $10,000 spread over four years of undergraduate education. The award ceremony is held in June of each year.
Geographic Scope
New York City - Focus on Hotel Association of New York City member properties- Applicant must be a senior student in high school
- Planning to attend an accredited four-year college/university in the fall
- Son/daughter/legal ward of an employee currently employed in a non-union management, administrative or similar capacity at a member property of the Hotel Association of New York City
- The employee must have a minimum total of 5 years' work experience at Hotel Association of New York City member properties
- Must not be eligible for other industry scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
- All aspects of the student's profile are taken into consideration
- Selected students are usually at the highest percentile of their class in both academics and extra-curricular activities
- Many scholarship recipients go on to study at top colleges and universities in the US
