Overview

H.G. Jones NC History Awards

Purpose: Furnish two cash prizes for winning student projects in the statewide National History Day Competition to encourage learning of history through research.

Program Start: Beginning in 1998

Geographic Scope: Statewide North Carolina competition

Eligibility:

  • Junior Division: Grades 6-8

  • Senior Division: Grades 9-12

  • Students participating in National History Day Competition
  • Focus Areas: History research leading to:

  • Papers

  • Performances

  • Audiovisual productions
  • Award Structure:

  • Two separate prizes awarded annually

  • One prize for junior division winner(s)

  • One prize for senior division winner(s)
