Overview

Global Impression Award

Purpose: Honor and celebrate emerging leaders who are making significant contributions to Indiana's global community.

Established: 2018

Geographic Scope: All regions of Indiana

Award Type: Recognition award with public celebration at The International Center's annual International Citizen of the Year event

Selection Criteria:

  • Nominee should be in early stage of their career (as defined by nominator)

  • Must not have previously received the Global Impression Award

  • Must have made significant contribution to global community within Indiana through profession or other involvement

  • Must demonstrate promise for continuing service and leadership

  • Specific examples of continuing activities must be provided

    • Focus Areas:

  • Professional success and emerging leadership

  • Direct impact on global community within Indiana

  • Work that values all cultures

  • Vision for Indiana as vibrant place to live and work

    • Recognition:

  • Announced as finalist at International Citizen of the Year event

  • Winner announced during event program

  • Public recognition with audience of stakeholders

  • 2025 winner to be honored October 16 at Indiana Roof Ballroom, Downtown Indianapolis

    Global Impression Award Nomination Process

    Submission Format: Online nomination form

    Nomination Timeline: May 12 - June 30, 2026

    Required Nomination Materials:
    1. Completed online nomination form including:
    - Three short responses to questions about nominee's experience and impact
    - Nominator information
    - Nominee information

    2. Nominee's resume or CV and/or public LinkedIn profile

    Optional Nomination Materials:

  • Letters of recommendation in support of nominee

  • News articles, press clippings, or published works about nominee and their work

    • Nomination Form Components:

  • Nominator name and contact information

  • Nominee name and contact information

  • Three written responses addressing:

    • - Nominee's professional achievements and experience
    - Specific examples of impact on global community in Indiana
    - Promise for continuing service and leadership with specific examples

    Eligibility Notes:

  • Nominees considered from all regions within Indiana

  • All sectors of community welcome

  • Emerging/early-career leaders preferred

  • Previous award recipients not eligible
