Glasgow High School Educational Trust Scholarship

Funder: Glasgow High School Educational Trust (MT, US)

Background: Established in 1964 by the GHS Class of 1938 to help GHS alumni achieve their post-secondary educational goals. Trust corpus exceeds $10 million dollars. To date, the trust has awarded over $2.7 million dollars in financial aid to 786 different students.

Geographic Scope: Available to Glasgow High School graduates attending accredited institutions across the nation.

Eligibility:

  • Graduates of Glasgow High School

  • Must be accepted to and attending an accredited college, trade school, university, or two-year program

  • Must meet minimum college-level credit requirements:

  • - Four-year programs: 24 or more dual enrollment credits with proof of acceptance and sophomore level standing
    - Two-year programs: 12 or more dual enrollment credits with proof of acceptance
  • Previously, students needed to complete one-fourth of course requirements for a two-year degree OR one year of a four-year degree before applying (policy changed April 2022 to accept dual enrollment credits)

  • Must be in good academic standing

  • Financial need is a primary consideration

  • All students in good academic standing given equal consideration regardless of GPA

  • Includes students in trade schools and vocational/technical programs
  • Award Eligibility:

  • Students may reapply for additional aid for a total of eight semesters if all eligibility requirements are met

  • Awards distributed based on financial need and available funds
  • Application Deadlines:

  • July 1st and October 15th of each year (semi-annual)

    Application Process

    Requirements:

  • Application must be completed properly, thoroughly, and submitted on time to be considered

  • For four-year programs with dual enrollment credits: Must include certified transcript from the specific school showing acceptance of credits and sophomore level standing, OR letter from school's registrar proving acceptance and sophomore level standing

  • For two-year programs with dual enrollment credits: Same verification required as four-year programs
  • Submission:

  • Applications available for download at www.ghsedutrust.org

  • Must be submitted by deadline dates: July 1st or October 15th of each year

  • Application must list all requirements that must be met

  • Incomplete applications or those not following directions will be deemed ineligible
