Mission

The North Canton Medical Foundation awards grants to organizations that promote positive outcomes on the health and wellness of the community.

    Grant Cycles

    Applications are accepted twice per year:
  • 2026 Cycle 1: February 1 - April 15, 2026
  • 2026 Cycle 2: June 1 - August 15, 2026

Important: Organizations that received a grant award in the last cycle must wait one grant cycle before reapplying.

    Geographic Scope

    Grants are made to organizations located within:
  • Stark County, Ohio (primary service area)
  • Surrounding counties: Carroll, Holmes, Tuscarawas, and Wayne

    Focus Areas

  • Health and wellness programs
  • Services for underserved populations
  • Programs consistent with the Foundation's mission
  • Examples of funded programs:
  • - Hartville Migrant Medical Clinic - Access Health Stark County - Melanoma awareness education programs - North Canton YMCA collaborative programs - Cancer relief fund - Retired Physician's Program (support for retired physicians volunteering at free clinics) - Child health services - Medication access for uninsured/underinsured - Meal programs for individuals with life-threatening illnesses

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Organization Type: Tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations only
  • Location: Must be located in Stark County, OH or surrounding counties (Carroll, Holmes, Tuscarawas, Wayne)
  • Mission Alignment: Programs and services must be consistent with Foundation's mission
  • Legal Compliance: Request must comply with local, state, and federal laws

    Ineligible Applicants

    The Foundation will NOT consider requests from:
  • Corporations
  • Private Foundations
  • Individuals
  • Government Agencies

How to Apply

Grant Application Process

#### Step 1: Create Account
1. Create an account or login to Foundant Lifecycle Manager portal
2. Use the email address that will receive all correspondences
3. Save your login credentials for future access

#### Step 2: Letter of Intent (LOI)
1. Complete the LOI form in your Foundant Lifecycle Manager account
2. Explain the purpose of your request
3. Foundation will review and respond within two weeks

#### Step 3: Pre-Application Review

  • Foundation representatives review your LOI

  • You will be notified if approved to proceed to full application
  • #### Step 4: Full Application
    1. If LOI approved, submit complete full application through Foundant Lifecycle Manager
    2. Application reviewed by Grant Committee

    #### Step 5: Interview/Site Visit

  • Applicant may be contacted for an interview and/or site visit
  • #### Step 6: Board Decision
    1. Grant Committee reviews all applications
    2. Grant Committee makes recommendation to North Canton Medical Foundation Board of Directors
    3. Board of Directors makes final funding decision
    4. Applicant notified after Board decision
    5. Grant funds awarded within one month of approval

      Post-Award Requirements

    • Evaluation Reports: NCMF requires evaluation reports for all grants and collects specific data
    • Compliance: Failure to submit timely reports will impact the organization's ability to secure future funding from NCMF
