Overview

District Grants

Funder: Rotary International District 6600 (Northern Ohio)

Geographic Scope: District 6600 (58 clubs, 2,800+ members in Northern Ohio)

Overview: District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and communities abroad. These grants are administered by the District with the assistance of the Foundation Chair and the District Grants Committee.

Focus Areas: Congruent with Rotary's 7 areas of focus:

  • Promoting peace

  • Fighting disease

  • Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene

  • Saving mothers and children

  • Supporting education

  • Growing local economies

  • Environmental sustainability
  • Eligibility:

  • Must be a member of a Rotary club

  • At least two Rotarians from a Rotary Club must attend a Grant Management Seminar (GMS) to qualify for grants

  • Mandatory Grant Management Computer Training Program must be completed by two club members on or after March 1, 2025 and before submitting application
  • Key Requirements:

  • MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) compliance required

  • Record-keeping mandatory

  • Clubs may use DDF (District Designated Funds) to fund district grants

  • Districts may use up to half of their DDF for district grants; remaining DDF must be used for global grants or PolioPlus/Rotary Peace Centers

  • Different from Global Grants (minimum $30,000 projects)
  • Contact: District Rotary Foundation Chair or District 6600 office

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Complete Mandatory Training:
    - Mandatory Grant Management Computer Training Program must be completed by two club members on or after March 1, 2025
    - Training must be completed before submitting application

    2. Obtain Application Materials:
    - Instructions and application available at DACdb or as PDF
    - Navigate from DACdb District Tab under "District Grants"
    - 2025-2026 District 6600 Memorandum of Understanding for Clubs available
    - Letter of Cooperation template available for use with third parties

    3. Submit Application:
    - Applications due by June 30, 2025
    - Submit through DACdb system or PDF form

    4. Required Documentation:
    - Completed application form
    - Compliance with District 6600 Grant MOU
    - Letter of Cooperation (if involving third parties)

    5. Post-Grant:
    - Final Report required
    - Record-keeping mandatory throughout project
    - Travel subsidy payments made upon submission of receipts and documentation by May 31
