Overview: This external award honors individuals and programs demonstrating extraordinary dedication to historic preservation, patriotic service, or historical education. Beginning in 2026, the award is presented at each Biennial Council.

Award Amount: $10,000 monetary award

Award Details:

  • Recipient receives deep gratitude and national recognition

  • Monetary award of $10,000 to designate and further their impact on history's future

  • Presented at NSCDA Biennial Council meetings
  • Eligibility:

  • Must NOT be an NSCDA member (for individuals)

  • Individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to:

  • - Historic preservation
    - Patriotic service
    - Historical education
  • Embodies NSCDA mission of protecting and celebrating national heritage
  • Nomination Requirements:

  • Nominations must be submitted by a Corporate Society

  • Nominee cannot be a member of the NSCDA

  • Nominations submitted by email

  • Charles Halliwell Pringle Duell (2022) - for remarkable preservation efforts at Middleton Place in Charleston, SC
