NOTE: Any APA member may nominate any other APA member for the Ernest Sosa Prize Lecture. Ernest Sosa Prizes This prize and fellowship are established with the APA in honor of Ernest Sosa and for the purpose of providing the Ernest Sosa Prize and the Ernest Sosa Fellowship, to honor substantial achievement in epistemology. Winners of the prize must be outstanding contributors to epistemology, and will present the Ernest Sosa Prize Lecture, in which the prize winner expounds some substantial contribution in a way that is accessible to a broad philosophical audience. The lecture will be presented at an APA divisional meeting, normally a meeting in the year following the selection of the prize winner. The lecture will rotate among the divisional meetings on a regular schedule set by the APA. Funding The prize winner will receive a $1,500 award upon delivery of the lecture. The Ernest Sosa Prize Lecture will be published in the Proceedings and Addresses of the American Philosophical Association. In addition, the first five biennial recipients of the Ernest Sosa Prize will receive a selection of Ernest Sosa's major book-length contributions in epistemology. This selection will include one paperback copy of each of the following six Wiley Blackwell titles: Contemporary Epistemology: An Anthology Epistemology: An Anthology, 2nd Edition A Companion to Epistemology, 2nd Edition The Blackwell Guide to Epistemology Contemporary Debates in Epistemology Ernest Sosa and His CriticsEligibility
