Resident Scholarship Program The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society will award scholarships for orthopaedic residents to attend the AOFAS Annual Meeting 2025, September 10-13, in Savannah, Georgia, USA. US and Canadian orthopaedic residents who are PGY1, PGY2, or PGY3 during the 2024-25 academic year and who have an interest in foot and ankle surgery are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to attend the AOFAS Annual Meeting, learn more about foot and ankle surgery, and network with leading foot and ankle surgeons. The annual AOFAS Resident Scholarship Program covers: Registration fees for the Annual Meeting4 nights’ lodging and a $450 transportation stipendResident Scholar / Mentor Reception1 Year Surgeon in Training AOFAS Membership If approved for the scholarship, AOFAS will cover the cost and handle the meeting registration and lodging accommodations. The resident will responsible for making their own travel accommodations. A travel stipend of $450 will be issued by AOFAS to the resident after the completion of the Resident Scholar Agreement. If it is necessary to change the Annual Meeting to a virtual format, the selected Resident Scholars will receive complimentary registration to the Annual Meeting, and virtual participation will be required.

Orthopaedic surgery residents in the US and Canada who are PGY-1, PGY-2, or PGY-3 during the 2024-25 academic year are eligible to apply.The applicant must be able to attend the full Resident Program on Wednesday, September 10, and Thursday, September 11, in order to receive the Scholarship.The applicant must:Be an orthopaedic surgery resident in first, second, or third year of training in a US or Canadian training program.Demonstrate enthusiasm for and have a sincere interest in foot and ankle surgeryBe in good academic standing

Ineligibility

The Resident Scholarship is a non-transferable, one-time-only opportunity. Scholars agree to abide by program terms and acknowledge that acceptance of a scholarship precludes receiving any future Resident Scholarships.In cases where a resident is approved for the scholarship and is unable attend all programing for Resident Day on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11, any and all stipend funds must be returned.
