Summary
The C. Jeff Cederholm Scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in conservation and aquatic sciences. Established in memory of Jeff Cederholm, who dedicated his life to salmon conservation, the scholarship aims to provide financial assistance for educational expenses. In 2025, two scholarships will be awarded: one for $1,500 to an undergraduate student and another for $3,000 to a graduate student. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including membership in the WA-BC Chapter and participation in chapter activities.Overview
Background Jeff Cederholm dedicated his career to conservation of salmon, aquatic species and aquatic habitats. Jeff passed away in 2006 leaving a legacy of education. He has pioneered his contributions to scientific literature and periodicals, instilling passion for wild salmon conservation in many people for decades. After a successful American Fisheries Society Meeting hosted by the WA-BC Chapter in Seattle 2011, the Chapter resolved in 2013 to apply funds and subsequent contributions to the endowment to create a permanent source of financial support for educational expenses for students. For 2025, the Cederholm Scholarship Endowment Fund plans to award two scholarships: one $1,500 award to an undergraduate student (pursuing a bachelor’s or associate’s degree); and one $3,000 award to a student pursuing a master’s or doctorate degree.Eligibility
