About the Program
A self-funded scholarship program designed to promote higher education for members of MLB clubhouse support staff. The fund is available to all Major League clubhouse attendants, bat boys, ball boys, and ball girls.
Award Structure
- Two $10,000 annual scholarships: One awarded to American League applicant, one to National League applicant
- Melvin and Ellen Gordon Family Scholarship: $25,000 annual award (partnership with Tootsie Roll CEO Ellen Gordon, established 2023)
- Lesser grants: Additional awards may be given throughout the year based on need and circumstance

- Letter of recommendation from sponsoring clubhouse manager
- Official transcripts with proof of GPA (max 50 MB file)
- Personal letter about yourself and experience as bat boy/ball boy/ball girl/clubhouse attendant (max 50 MB file)
- List of professional, trade, business, athletic, volunteer, or civic activities
