Honorary Al Gulamali Award for Excellence in Airport Operations
Overview: Recognizes an individual who works in the field of Airport Operations and has provided a positive contribution to an airport, the traveling public, or to the overall aviation community. This award honors Al Gulamali, former Director of Operations and Safety for the Lee County Port Authority (RSW) and the Operations Committee's first Chair in 2015. Al was known for his amazing leadership skills, work ethic, and mentorship to many airport leaders across the state.

Eligibility Requirements
- Position Type: Individual must be actively working in the field of airport operations (airside, landside, or terminal)
- Level: Must not be on a managerial level or part of the airport's executive staff
- Contribution: Must have provided positive contribution to an airport, the traveling public, or the aviation community
Recognition: Annual award presented at the Annual Conference Leadership Brunch
Selection Process
Nominations reviewed by award selection committee consisting of members from the Operations Committee. Committee chooses one individual meeting eligibility criteria.
